Welcome to the website of Isabel Allende.
Isabel Allende’s trium-phant return to historical fiction, La Isla Bajo El Mar, tells the story of Zarité, a nine-year-old mulatto girl who is sold as a slave in eighteenth-century Santo Domingo. Booklist claims that “Demand will be high for this transporting, re-markably topical novel of men and women of courage risking all for liberty.” To read more about it, check out Books. For an intimate peek into Isabel’s private photo album, an up close look at her biography or to view a more detailed timeline of her life from 1942 through the coup in Chile in 1973 and on to present day, check out Roots. If you are curious about Isabel’s speeches, interviews, answers to the most frequently asked questions, a list of publishers or if you would like to download press photos, Curiosities is for you.
